What we do everyday shapes us. It shapes our thoughts, our actions, and even our beliefs.
For example, if I’m used to be a very negative person and all of a sudden I start meditating every day – for as little as 5 minutes – I’ll really feel like a completely different person.
All of a sudden I’d start being more positive and happy. Even what I say changes, and people around me would start noticing that.

You can see how doing something for 5 minutes every day – which is a very little amount of time btw – can shape both your inner and outer world so fast and in such a radical way.
Those 5 minutes don’t make the difference, it’s doing it every day that does.
That’s why I truly believe in the power of routines.
And that’s why I think everybody should be very careful of what they have as an everyday routine. Because habits can be damaging, too.
At the end of the day, what we do every day says a lot about who we are and most of all it says a lot about our future. Our habits take us a little bit everyday closer to our goals.
So…
HOW DO YOU ACTUALLY ESTABLISH A ROUTINE?
There are really 2 essential steps for this:
1. DECIDE WHAT YOU REALLY WANT
Let’s go back to the example given. If I want to be a more positive person, I can start meditating. Or if I want to be stronger physically, I know I need to start working on my muscle resistance.
2. SET GOALS AND BREAK THEM DOWN INTO HABITS
E.g
Final goal: Being happier
To-do every day: meditating and journaling – to see on paper how my thoughts change.
To-do monthly: check my journal and re-read last month pages.
And that’s it. There are really no secrets other than starting little and starting now. Believe me, there’s no better time than now to start.

Let me know in the comments’ section below what your dreams and life goals are and what little steps you could take every day in order to accomplish them.
Great post, I love how you decide on your routine with the actual end goal clearly in mind. This month I’ve added meditation and journaling to my daily routine and they really have an impact!
Yeah, I think we tend to lose focus, sometimes. However, I’m glad you enjoyed this post. Thank you so much! And keep killing it with your routine! (I journal and meditate daily, too)
